I am thinking of making a auto hosting search engine script that work signup and submit your plans to all the hosting search engines or directories (ie. findsp.com, tophosts, hostindex...)

Anyways, I would like to know if anyone has already done this? If it sound like something that hosts would want? and I would also like some Idea of cost, and where it should be stored (my server on it's own site or just give out the script and then email people updates?)

It sounds like a great idea. I would love to see something like this created. I wonder, though, how the various hosting directories would feel about something like this. Would they allow it or would it compromise the integrity of their site?

Secondly, and maybe this should be started in a new thread, but what are some of the ways these hosting directories keep their databases up-to-date and clean. When I look through the various listings a lot of times they are out of date. Are there any mechanisms on the hosting directory sides to keep the system clean?

I would like it if I was them since that just means t hey will get a bigger database of hosts. The directories it will help the most will be the small ones, since more people will submit to them now. I think it will also keep all the sites updated. Nevertheless, the progress is going good... E-mail me at justin@bubblehost.com since I will soon need beta testers :cool:
