Hi,

just got an email last week that my website has too much activity and affect other customers on the same server. I had to change my MySQL DBs to allow less connections (worked with 2 usernames before to double the possible connections).

My site is non-profit so i can`t afford my own server or something like that. At the moment i have often more than 100 people on the site at the same time and this seems to be too much for my current hoster. Is there any webhoster who can handle the site w/o taking my last shirt?

I need ~350MB webspace, at least 20GB traffic (sometimes more but can pay for this if GB/$ rates are ok), MySQL databases and Imagemagik or GD with jpeg support for my picture gallery. My site is PHP Nuke powered so i need many DB connections. My current hoster allow 45 connections which is not enough and result in MySQL error messages. Somethink like "site powered by ???" is also possible but i don`t want other advertisement banners on the site.

Anyone can help?

Thank you,
Matthias

HostingMatters is pretty good, but relatively spendy. (You pay good money for good service, and it is industry competitive).

Also, wizardshosting.com (which I have no experience with) is much cheaper and is supposedly a good choice.

Another pretty cool host is HostRocket. (http://www.hostrocket.com) Their Executive plan is only $20/mo, and has 450 megs space, but only 17gb bandwidth; not sure about what else you need. Perhaps you can work an agreement out with them for more bandwidth or space as you need it.

I'm sure if you listed your requirements and your budget in the Web Hosting Requests" forum, someone would help you out.

Off Topic

Mods ,

I am not a host. Although I aspire to be one soon (maybe under a different name).
So, is it okay for me to suggest they visit that forum?

<<MOD NOTE:>>
That applies just to hosts, or likewise (depending on the post) those who might have a commercial interest. Post is fine. :D Once you become a host, this would be prohibited.
