I'm developing a series of regional guides/sites and need a good ad banner management system that allows for targetting ads across sites. Currently I'm using a C-based cgi-script system called CentralAd from CentralAd.com that has a lot of problems.

I've gotten some replies from people recommending some systems or scripts and some third-party services that can do this kind of stuff for me. But nothing recommended so far has the flexibility or affordability I require.

I am hoping that some of you have used or have clients who use some good advertising management software that can be recommended.

has 6 pages of them so you may find what you're looking for there. Most are free to $100 or so, and some look very slick from what I could see.

I have used phpAds from Tobias Ratschiller. Totally awesome and totally free.

I think adcycle was great. Not to hard to setup and it can really pound out the banner ads. There is a trial then if I remember right its 50 dollars or so to buy. Well worth the money.

Since this thread was resurrected, I'll just add that shortly after I started this thread in Sept 2000 I purchased AdvertPro, available at

http://www.AdvertPro.com.

It is not cheap, but an excellent program. Very flexible and I am able to deliver ads across the dozen websites (with different domains) I manage. I can set up multiple regions, multiple advertising accounts and run combinations of ads all over. Great for HTML/Rich Media ads as well.

It's not a recommended solution for single sites delivering only moderate amounts of ads, but definitely worth it if you have moderate to high requirements for an ad management solution.

I have used Web Adverts (http://awsd.com/scripts/webadverts/) for a long time. I have used it for banner exchange programs but it is usable for paid programs too. ($50)

I have also installed bannerplus (which is free) and is something like webadverts but with less administration capabilities.
