I was just over at hotscripts.com looking over the new stuff and found this:

Modernbill. A PHP program written for hosting companies. Looks like it has a lot of nice features like:

Batch processing with authorize.net
Invoice generation
lots more.

Reasonable price.

Anyone using it?

Doesn't Authorize.net already gives a control panel with the features that the script does?

Ubersmith looks nice, but the price! This other one is only $50 one time!

Nobody is using it yet... the application is still beta and it's not release yet.
I tested the demo , and it looks really good. I really like the fully automated batch work, that will save a lot of time doing billing.

I wrote ModernBill and would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for your interest!

It's funny how you spammed the CBMS mailing list..Anyone who spams a competitors mailing list to get customers shouldn't deserve to operate.

I admit it and I agree it was in bad taste. My apologies to Voxel and the users on cbms-users list.

I tried using CBMS, but it lacked many of the features and cosmetics I was looking for. I also investigated Ubersmith, which I must say is a vast improvement over CBMS, but at a high sticker price. And there were others, DreamAccount...etc...but none really had exactly the right combination that made me say WOW, I need that!

So, I started writing one from scratch for my clients. I poured my heart and soul into ModernBill and tried to incorporate as many features as people were suggesting. :)

I agree that CBMS is THE BEST FREE billing solution out there, but there are not many choices in between FREE and "An Arm & a Leg", so that was my rational behind creating ModernBill.

Thanks for listening and again, sorry Voxel.

ModernBill,
Can you please include batch proccessing capability for other Payment Gateways such as sfcommerce.com?

Can you point me to some technical documentation that lists what "sfcommerce.com" expects in a transaction response?

Here is what I need to make this happen:

For Authorize.net...

I have a table called: authnet_batch
This table is the temporary storage space for my pending batch. As soon as I am ready to process the current batch, I loop through the records (the columns are defined exactly what Authorize.net expects) and process each one.

For other Payment Processors...

I need to define what fields they expect and what variables they return. Once I have this information, I can create the payment_batch table and modify the batch script to read from it.

This should be pretty simple as long as the technical documents are up-to-date.

Thanks for the docs...this will work great! I can probably have it done in a few weeks, after the initial release.

I respect your response and hope that everyone isn't too hot and bothered over it. (In Italian accent...) Jus' don meth wif our gracious host or we's gonna have to send the CDS (Chicken Death Squad) out on you's donkey. The things they do have never been documented. No survivors. Bahhdah-bing bahhdah-boom :D

Best of luck in your efforts...
