View Full Version : Enom blocked by other registrars / transfer problems
I recently got an Enom reseller account. When I tried to transfer a domain from OpenSRS to Enom, there was a delay and I checked the order status, which reported an error. On contacting Enom support, I received this response:
Our transfer process has experienced some significant delays due to database issues caused by other registrars blocking out our server. The issues in our database have been resolved and the transfer process has been reset. The problem with the other registrars persist. Due to the large amount of orders that have been queued, it may take several hours (maybe even a day) to catch up with itself. Orders are being processed, but there will still be delays until we can get our servers unblocked. Thanks for your patience and your transfer should be initiated soon.
Why are other registrars blocking Enom? Is this something new?
And are delays/errors with transfers of domains common with Enom?
snoop 08-08-2003, 04:16 PM I know bulkregister block enom because enom harbors scammers like domain registry of america who send out fake renewal notices, I would guess it is now something similar with opensrs.
Thanks snoop. This is a bit worrying.
Does anyone know which other registrars are blocking Enom?
And how does this issue effect the operation of accounts at Enom?

"I know", as in, "I can post a link or info relating to this" ???
Odd Fact 08-09-2003, 12:56 PM I have not had problems transferring domains from other companies to enom(opensrs, godaddy, namecheap, etc). I wonder if some registers make transferring a name difficult in an attempt to keep your business.
colden 03-06-2004, 04:30 PM The problem with Enom? In short, "Bulkregister is attempting to stem the industry problem of 'domain slamming,' and therefore is blocking all transfer requests to Enom (but BR resellers may request exemptions). DomainRegistry
of America, an Enom reseller, has recently been identified as mailing
deceptive domain renewal notices."
"Please be cautious of any renewal
notices that you receive through the mail."
Acroplex 03-06-2004, 05:45 PM My transfer of a domain from OpenSRS to Enom was completed in less than 24 hours.
I have not experienced any Enom blocking of any kind, including transfers from Stargate, Dotster, NameCheap, RegisterFly and GoDaddy.

eSology 03-06-2004, 11:00 PM I've had a transfer request in limbo for three "long" days from Dotster to eNom. Usually I have received an e-mail requiring confirmation by now.
dmaven 03-07-2004, 12:52 AM Also netsol is up to new tricks, they are delaying transfers to enom saying DROA an enom reseller was fined. They send an email to the registrant and require a seperate confirmation that they need to reply to confirming they wish to transfer the name away IN ADDITION to the standard "are you sure you wish to transfer away?" What nonsense.

ideafusion 03-07-2004, 01:44 PM Just a follow up, bulkregister I believe places a block on enom transfers by default. But you can request that they allow enom transfers if you are the bulkregister account holder I did and have not had a problem with transfers from bulkregister to enom since. I looked for their posted news story but they have cleared the news so only news from this year is the site.
Bashar 03-07-2004, 03:44 PM yeah you can always ask bulkregister to open the block from your account to enom as they did for me.
