I got my first ever snail mail from my domain registry details today
I personally think they have a cheek offering their services by mail. This one was from the Australian branch with prices way above what I pay for a not so cheap registrar.
It can be misleading for people who don't read the fine print, "This notice is not a bill" but see "current domain name must be renewed"
Is there anyone I can complain to about this type of mail? I can't use spamcop for this one :D

I would try with enom, these s@%mbags are an enom reseller. I have tried to complain even to matt Stearn, it all fell on deaf ears.

Holy Moley, I have just looked at the back of this mail and the writing would have to be the tiniest I have ever seen on paper  Pity any poor bugger who sent their money off to the scammers and didn't/couldn't read the ultrafine print. One would need a magnifying glass to read it :bawling:
I just got my first two droa letters today too
One was for a domain I haven't owned for over 4 months.
I don't think there's much that can be done... :/

I had two my clients duped into "renewing" with them at a hefty fee. It was a hassle to get the names transferred back.
DROA gives the industry a bad name
I've checked with Enom, and DROA (et al) aren't doing anything illegal, so there's nothing that can be done about them. Sure it's smarmy and deceitful, but legal.
Nothing a good kneecapping wouldn't fix....
I had several clients start the process with these beggars, but thankfully, they spoke to me prior to removing the registrar lock on their names to allow the changeover. And this was after I sent out several warning emails about this. Guess they're not reading them.

no doubt they are one of enom's biggest resellers
