Does anyone know of a website that has good "shopping lists" for building servers, i.e. lists of components (motherboards, CPUs, etc.) that will work together in a server?

I'm considering the idea of building a Dual PIII system for around $1000 (using components bought from retailers listed on pricewatch.com) and colocating it at colocation.efreeservers.com for $400 per month, to get 400 GB of bandwidth. :D

I do have to make sure I use reliable components though---it would be very inconvenient if the server failed while it was in the data center, which is not local to me! That's why I'd like to look at good shopping lists.

Another sticky point is the case. Apparently colocation.efreeservers.com has a limit of 3U (or is it 2U?) per server, so I would have to get a 3U rackmount case instead of a normal case. Where do I buy rackmount cases? PriceWatch.com doesn't seem to cater to these listings.

Hope that helps!

Where is their colocation services (or data center for servers) ?
Is this where their data center is ?
EFS Networks
200 Paul Avenue, 5th Floor
San Francisco, CA 94124

Why I ask is that most data centers don't show their real addresses.
Well, their prices are very cheap. I might colocate with them in the future.
