I have heard a lot of good things about Hostway, and that's why I signed up, but unfortunately they're not as good as what I heard. Their response always very slow, and not really helpful, they just asked me to read all these links instead of answering it directly. Once in a while I lost some emails, or I couldn't login to my email accounts. But what really ticked me off was when I signed up for their search engine power pack service, the agreement told me that it's only $49/year, and it came with the Urchin services. After I signed up, guess what, all the description disappeared (so no proof at all), and I don't have the Urchin active. So I emailed them, and they told me the package is actually $99/year (from $49/yr) and its extra $5/mo for the Urchin services. I feel cheated big time!
If I hadn't printed the agreement out, I would believe that I might have read it wrong, but then I did, and it was $49/year!! Too bad I didn't printed out the part about the Urchin. Anyway, I emailed back to them telling them my concern (its for the 4th times now), and haven't heard anything from them yet. I tried to call the support 1800# and they told me they dont deal with this, I have to call the billing department, and they won't give me the 1800# for that. Of course I'm not going to call the number, because they always make me hold for soooo long. So all I can do is just email them.
Anybody has any suggestion? Can someone recommend me a better host, and how do I transfer my domain later on? Will it be a lot of hassle, cos I kinda read that they can hold your domain and just give you hard time to change host. I don't want to go through all those hassle, since their customer service is really slow/ not responding. I mean my website is doing fine, so maybe if I just stay out of their other services I'll be fine? Please help!!!!
