Hi everyone,

Can I ask someone (or peoples :)) to take 20 seconds out of their schedules and check whether my new domain name (Wokadoo.com) has propagated around their servers. It's supposed to be pointing to my new site at WebExpose.net by now, but I'm still getting DNS timeouts. ARRGGGHHH.

Anyway, if some of you could click on http://www.wokadoo.com then post back here and tell me what ya see. Would be much appreciated - danke :)

(edit)
Btw, I slotted the new NameServers in on Sunday night US time, so it's been well over 72 hours by now... (/edit)

Sorry BC, not getting it yet! I got a "Cannot find server" error. Will try again later if I get time.

Negatory. Just tried, nada, zilch, a void in cyberspace.

Excuse me while I exhale some blood-laden profanities...

Thanks for the help anyway guys, much appreciated. Looks like I'll just have to be a bit more patient than I'd like.... :(

nslookup wokadoo.com a.root-servers.net

Name: wokadoo.com
Served by:
- NS1.WEBEXPOSE.NET
208.235.112.194
wokadoo.com
- NS2.WEBEXPOSE.NET
216.242.88.6
wokadoo.com

My ISP has not updated it's DNS as yet.

C:\>nslookup wokadoo.com
Server: ns0.cwcom.net
Address: 195.44.0.12

DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
*** ns0.cwcom.net can't find wokadoo.com: Server failed

Once the root servers are updated it will take 3hrs to 24hrs for cache to expire on local (such as ISPs etc) DNS servers and for it to fetch the latest info from the root servers.

Guys, thanks for all the help. I've just spoken to Philip at WebExpose and it turns out the techs have misspelled the domain name  so that should be fixed very soon. WebExpose's support comes to the rescue again.

Thanks again. :)

There is no A record in the zone for wokadoo.com, this is problem with ns1,webexpose.net the domain is not pointing to any ip

C:\>nslookup wokadoo.com ns1.webexpose.net
Server: ns1.webexpose.net
Address: 208.235.112.194

Name: wokadoo.com

C:\>nslookup hostinvestigator.com ns1.dn.net
Server: ns1.dn.net
Address: 206.43.192.76

Name: hostinvestigator.com
Address: 216.167.56.224

C:\>

Notice how hostinvestigator.com has an address and wokadoo.com does not.

Just spotted your reply, anyway I might as well post it now I've typed it, could help someone else sometime :)

Yep, it is working fine for me. Domain transfers can be a pain sometimes.

Yep, it seems to be working fine from here! I hate domain transfers! They never seem to work quite the way they should.

Thanks again guys.

(and thank God for static IPs too, enabling me to upload bits and pieces)

BC,

I could connect successfully.

Nice violet cityscape with huge firecrackers exploding silently !!!!!! :)

LOL! It isn't supposed to be violet, it's supposed to be dark green or black (which I haven't decided) and I won't fix it until I fix the rest of the site up (fiddling with ASP and Dreamweaver templates at the moment and trying to work out where I can add some ColdFusion work to it).

It's just another useless splash page, but it will do while I try and get my site up.

That's a cute piece of JavaScript you have running, BC... i went through the code and thought i should tell you that i couldn't see the HTML "site under construction" notice at the bottom in my browser window.

I am using Netscape Ver 4.72 right now.

Technically that's not all my JSCript code - the original code's all from elsewhere and I've modified it slightly. The 'site under construction' bit is actually nested in a DIV for Netscape 3 users only.

Am wearing goggles cuz i still see the page in UV light... and the ascii art in black... but the ascii did appear in white for a second as it downloaded !!!!

Will try to run it in IE 5.0 too to see if the colors do change !!!!!!! LOL !!!!!!

BC, as you can see, the ultra violet rays are still hitting me even in IE ver 5.0 !!!

However, in Netscape 4.2 the ascii art was left aligned and in black color. i also couldn't see the changing message-text below the ascii-art.

but in IE 5.0 it is centered and in white color. the changing message-text shows up fine grading from white to grey to black before being replace with a new message.

but in both browsers i couldn't see the last bottom-most line in your HTML source code ie. about your site being under construction.

Hmmmm...... I might have a fiddle around with it if I get time today. It doesn't really concern me at the moment since it's nothing more than a 'Under Construction' page (a fancy one all the same, but still the same concept).
