If you are using Apache as provided by cPanel, you will already have DSO support.

It checks your platform has DSO feature and your Apache HTTPD Binary has to be built with the mod_so module.

1.) Apache Configuration (httpd.conf)
---------------------------------
You have selected Apache as your web server. This installation will now ask
you
some questions about your Apache program. Where is your Apache
configuration
file (httpd.conf) located? (For example, on Red Hat Linux it is in the
/etc/httpd/conf directory.)
Enter File Location:

2.) Document (web) Root
-------------------
Please enter the document root for your web server. (Your web server serves
web
pages from this directory.) For example, the document root directory on Red
Hat
Linux is /var/www/html/.
Enter Location:

3.) Apache Binary Location
----------------------
Please enter the location of the Apache program binary file (for example,
/usr/sbin/httpd) on Red Hat Linux). If you have more than one instance of
Apache on your computer, enter the binary file location for the Apache web
server that will use ColdFusion MX. (Note: this is not the Apache start and
stop script.)
Enter Location (e.g. /usr/sbin/httpd):

4.) Apache Start/Stop Script
------------------------
Please enter the location of the file that you use to start and stop the
Apache
web server. For example, this would be /etc/init.d/httpd on Red Hat Linux
and
it could be /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl on hand-compiled versions.
