Hello,

I am at this point trying to get plesk to work on a personal system. It has redhat 7.1 installed. I did everything it asked on the plesk homepage. I installed the os as server install choosing only the webserver to be installed. Then I deinstalled the (that is what plesk asked for) apache webserver and proceeded onto installing plesk. I did that and everything seemed fine until that point.

Plesk asked for me to go to my ip via port 8443. In the following format in which my ip is represented by the xx's.
http://xx.xx.xx.xxx:8443

When I do that I get a network error according to netscape. "connection reset by peer."

Since I am a total newbie to not only control panels but webservers too, I have very little idea about what that means. I also visited my IP from two different computers and I got to the "Plesk Server Administrator Default Page." So the webserver is functioning but I can't seem to access it on port 8443 as plesk asked me to.

About my internet connection and computer:
It's and ancient compaq prolinea with sufficient memory and processing ability. It's a personal machine I am using for learning purposes so it's on a cable connection via Time Warner's Road Runner service. I get a dynamic IP.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you try:

https://xx.xx.xx.xxx:8443

instead of

http://xx.xx.xx.xxx:8443

Not sure if that is the problem but it is worth a look.

Thanks,
