anybody know about moonfuit, they offer hosting deals but its not like anything i've ever seen, its all flash orientated and looks expensive for what it is.

i only ask as a friend of mine has a site with them and i didnt want him to be robbed.

his site..... http://ultimategamingclan.moonfruit.com

he pays 80 quid a year for it.......

thanks

£80 a year, is around $125 - $130 so around $10 a month

and for his $10 a month he seems to be getting 100mb of space, no scripting support of anykind, eg no php, cgi, mysql, no email (except a "group mailer" whatever that is) , no mention of any sort of online control panel.

Seems he's paying $10 a month for 100mb space, a pagebuilder and some free picture galleries :cartman:

I think some people may class that as a rip off compared to what even some of the top hosts around here would offer for that price, but i think it's different from everybodys perspective, if somebody just wants to put a few basic HTML pages up on the web, then there's no need for php, cgi, mysql support, control panlels with 100 options and a million other things.

I think it's just that we're so accustomed to seeing them posted every day with every offer, we see anything less as a "rip off"

If he's getting good service and support, his site is up, he has everything that he needs for what he wants and it's within his budget then no, i wouldn't say he's getting ripped off :)
