I've heard people say in here that the alabanza network was good because they make it easy for you to switch hosts however this is what the host I was going to go with was told.
"we will not move them or any domains
for that matter from one Alabanza client to another."

I ended up with my own server at Alabanza out of desperation from some crazy B host who took down several sites, and let them stay down over 4 days. That said, I contacted Alabanza, then got my server, then they pulled the IP's and websites off her server, and put them on mine. It seems they forgot to bind the IP's to my server though, and at some point all the site went down (just had a Linux successfull installation page).
So, yes they moved my sites, yes I had problems later. It would have been easier to update the nameserver info on the 20 sites no to have them go down.

It is easy for the host to do, and easy to change the nameservers on the domain...they are not responsible for setting up sites and domains.
I don't see why the host asked Alabanza to move the domain for them, just tranfer it like any other domain.

I already posted this under the same topic in the Resellers section. But, I see there is more action here. Since I like to be where the action is... <G> I guess I will add my comment here now.
Alabanza moved my domains without any questions. I just moved all of my accounts from NoMonthly to a new server and had no problems at all. I just emailed them with a list of the domain names, IP addresses, usernames, passwords, email addresses, and old server names and told them where to put them and what packages to put them on. Four days later, my accounts were moved!
If you need more information about this, either post your email address or email me directly. I'd be glad to help.
I also was not without problems. When they told me what info they wanted, they said they needed Package Names, so that is what I gave them. Well, when they moved everything they just put my accounts onto a really small plan because they could not figure out which plans to put the sites on. Apparently, they wanted to Package IDs, not the names. Oh well, it is all fixed now!
I thought that the ip#'s etc would all be able to stay the same as someone mentioned this before as alabanza owns all the ip#s I just don't want all my customers to lose their stats etc

Jim,
When we moved, all of our IP addresses did stay the same...not one was changed! None of my clients lost their stats, settings, or anything like that.
There were a few sites that counters stopped working on and at least one site the counter reset itself to zero. Also, the signup date listed on the control panel changed to the date of the transfer. But, other than these few minor things, nothing else changed. My nameservers even moved with me, so no domains had to be transferred.
There were a few bumps in the transfer, but all in all it went pretty good.
I guess I will have to find another host that uses alabanza and can do this I e-mailed coolreseller.com and they told me they e-mail alabanza and they said they would not do it. I don't have my own name servers right now but whereever I go I will get them
