Hi:
Just wondering, is it worth choosing a 9GB SCSI hardrive over 60GB IDE, and under what situations? I could probably squeeze by a 9 gb hd, but then again, more is always better, especially for backup. So i guess my question is, how much a speed improvement is a scsi over ide?

Thanks,

Depends on what make model, some of the newer IDE drive easy match and surpass some of the smaller older SCSI drives. We've got a 120GB IDE that does 55MB/s - which is more than a match for smaller SCSI drives. Having said that though, you also have to take in to effect the average seek times and what kind of data access you'll be seeing.
