Hi,

I have been using an email address at mailops.com which was a free service (supported by a few email-ads). Now they have gone commercial and are charging $4.95 per month for an email account. It is a real pain to have to switch email addresses once again! I have been thinking, if I have to pay, why not get my own domain and host it even if I have to pay a little more. After all, at $4.95, I am getting only email and only 10MB. With my own domain, I can have many more email addresses and also do more than just email. Are there any hosts that are geared specifically towards this need -- i.e. hosting with an emphasis on email?

Thanks & Regards....

I remember a host offering an email account for $5 or something a month. Try searching the forum or post in the hosting request forum (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=32)

Well, I am looking for a host with good uptime for starters. I want to be able to check my email anytime easily. Web access to email alongwith POP3 access. Somebody with a fast interface for the email. Scanning of attachments would be a plus. Not everybody has these features.

In addition to that, I want a reputable host....

Regards...

I have used two hosting services for my personal email stuff:

http://www.amhosting.com/emailaccount.shtml has a $3 per month email-only service which I found to be very reliable. You have access to the control panel so you can add and update your email accounts as needed. Highly recommended.

and

http://www.weinbar.com has a $49.99 per year web hosting special that includes a bunch of email accounts. Weinbar has hit a speed bump or two in the past couple of months, but lately they seem to be back on track.
