I'm looking to host a number of domain names on a managed DNS service (one where they provide the DNS server and i add zones as i need to).

The question is i would like to be able to add domains right away from within my administration control panel I'm building so i was wondering if anyone knows of a reasonable priced one which provides some sort of API to add, delete and modify domain zone files.

ZoneEdit.com is pretty much the top provider of this service. They offer both free and fee-based services. I used them back in the day.

I was looking at them the other day and noticed they had an API using Perl modules or something like that which can be found here (https://www.zoneedit.com/doc/partner/integration.html) but i think thats just for resellers.

I noticed the first type of account they offer on the reseller plan (excluding free trial) is $150 dollars. I dont really have that much to spare and was thinking of someone who offered a per zone fee with the API where i can just send simple HTTP requests and get a reply saying "Success" or "Failed" or whatever their system did.
