How come in HostRocket I am supposed to use an ISP SMTP address? Can't I just send through my webhosting server?

Many hosts disallow the use of their server's SMTP in order to reduce the occurrence of spam relaying (e.g. bouncing spam through the SMTP component so that the original source of the spam is hidden). Brendan can most probably elaborate, but at the same time such a question should probably be first directed to Hostrocket's support.

When I was looking for a host I went to hostrockets site and asked about SMTP because my ISP wont let me use theirs..he said they could allow me to use it in that event.

yeah... i hope i can use their server pop3. my isp doesnt give me a pop3 mail. i'd have to use my ghetto hotmail. =[
