After hearing so much about them, i've decided to try them for the first time by registering 2 domains,

at the bulk registration form, as usual i entered my particulars and also visa to complete the payment (that include login/password, whois info, etc..).

Lastly, i was bought to a final blank page after the payment gateway. Everything seem as usual BUT, i can't login my account, the domain whois shown it wasn't registered, i recieve no confirmation email, there wasn't any reply to stated if my visa was already billed.

I've already emailed them and waiting for their reply, i need answers to;

1) Is the domain already registered by me?

2) Is my credit card already charge? (I've tried two times, hopefully i won't get charge for two time neither)

3) Have they recieved my sign-up/particulars?

To those who had been a customer of them, is this the usual procedure for their services, i really had no idea because it was my first time dealing with them and it looks quite unusual, or.. possibility of "code red"?

Don did some reseach and found they were on hold even though my old registrar said the were not.

Don was very help and replied with 48hrs normally 24 and sometimes straight away if i was on line late a night (UK time)

support were a little slow though.

I'm not so sure you should have been on the "Bulk Registration" form if you were only registering two names.
Could be the reason for the mix up.

Well it could be:D

I like Stargate:rolleyes:

It is the "DomainXpress" option, i quote it as bulk registration because it offer multiple domain registration as well.. sorry for causing confusion.

When i go to account login, there's 3 option (Stargate Account Login, Stargate Bulk Account Login and Affiliate Member Area Login). I know it should be either the first two but i've tried all and all failed, it seem like my account wasn't even establish yet.

There could have been a server/network problem and the account could very well not have been established.
You should have been able to access your account at the "Stargate Account Login."

I sent you a PM ;)

I got this everytime i tried to login. :( "The supplied login was invalid" ... I'll have to wait for reply to confirm if my account was established.

And well, if my CC is charge double times i'll just get another two more domains from them, just help to clear some from my awaiting list.

It sounds like the account was never established:(

Let us know when you get it straightened out.

My experience with Stargate has been that a user id is not even established in their system until the domain registration is complete.

So, if you just signed up with them within a day or two, give it some time. You won't be able to log in to your account until they've completed everything. You should get an email once everything is done.

Hope this calms your fears....I've had no problems using Stargate :)

After 24hrs, I finally recieve their reply and had tried to register again, this time is usual;

"Congratulations! Registration has been completed....

Questions? Please contact us at 1-800-282-6541 or support@stargateinc.com......

Now that you have successfully registered your domain name, ....."

Perharp it's just my luck yesterday to encounter some system malfunction and making a fuss out of it. Thanks for all help!

Hello
This problem was due to their connection with the verisign registry servers being refused.

Today they were completely off line again.
Both days they were back on by 09:30 their time.
Coincidence?
Or is that the time the techs come in and notice the problem........

When it works its very good, and lets face it where else are you going to get domains for $6.50/yr.
But, when it fails its down for long periods so you need a back up system.

I heard they had a very bad month last month and that they were trying to prevent the problems happening again.

Well, if you buy enough domains through them the price comes down to $6.50
I think its 500+ you need to buy but as we register 300+ per month it was almost as cheap buying 2 months worth from Stargate as one months worth from OpnSRS.

Well, yes, sort of. I've tried it twice, i.e. on two occasions. The first time, I went through the entire registration process three times plus, of course, clicking 'back' after timing out. That is, I may have hit the order confirmation button six times in all or so. At last, the domain names I wanted to register showed up as TAKEN. Now, that's when I started to sweat! I figured I could have been billed multiple times and have the domain names snatched from me on top of that. Well, I went to Dotster and registered the names there - they were still free. Having done that, I emailed Stargate about the whole affair. They were very kind and told me that of course I would not get billed for domain names not successfully registered.
The second time I tried in vain to register domain names with Stargate, after multiple attempts, I ended up at gkg.net. This time, I didn't even bother writing Stargate.

To conclude, Stargate has a MAJOR problem of which they must be aware: They're losing business! Nevertheless, Stargate remains my favorite registrar, because of their low price and BEAUTIFUL control panel - no extra cost, no ads. The domain names now registered with Dotster and gkg.net, I intend to move to Stargate when the 60 days are over. May they fix this problem a.s.a.p for their own good and ours!

Best regards
Anders

i use totalnic.net myself. i love there control panel even better then stargate's. they also seem to make changes to the domains faster then anyone else. you can get discounts with them if you buy in bulk.
