View Full Version : With Who To Go??
JR232 08-01-2001, 04:02 PM After Looking For A Good Reseller Plan For Weeks I Decide To Go With One Of The Following Hosts. Can Anyone Recommend Me One Or More Of Them Or Does Anyone Have Personal Experience With Them ? I Am Reseller Of Donhost Now And I Hear Many Things About Them So I Want To Look For A New Host Before Accepting More Clients.
All Of Them Look Good And I Just Cannot Decide!!! :( :(

RunOfTheMill 08-01-2001, 04:55 PM Although i cannot vouch for how good their service is (IE. if they are down alot, fast, etc)
Since i havent started with them yet (will very soon)
What i can Vouch to you is that MCHOST has INCREDIBLE support.
I get an answer within 1hour to all my questions.
The staff is kind and very eager to help.
I would also say that their packages are the best ive seen for a reseller. (Especially if you want the freedom to create your own packages and such).
My 2Cents.
Do your research and youll find the right one for you.

Dedicated 08-01-2001, 05:32 PM go for mchost.com for unix and fasthosts are not bad for Windows if you can keep your bandwidth in control (10GB).
creid 08-01-2001, 06:30 PM Yeah! Ur good with MC Host!Support is Amazing!:D
I think mchost looks good, but I can't find any phone number or email address on their page to ask questions. Am I missing something? I'd love to get a response to my questions before signing up. What email address do you use to talk with them?
Thanks,
Larry

MorphStar 08-02-2001, 08:13 AM Forget FastHosts.co.uk :) I have a very bad experience with them and I advice you to choose you any of the others.

I have bad experience but when you look at the other provider they make Fasthosts.co.uk good value. I still have account with fasthost an at one point they gave me one hour to sort ..... or your account will be closed but since then everything is fine.
AL-Benjamin 08-02-2001, 05:31 PM Fasthosts.co.uk
nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
seriously though. yes they are cheap. but the service standards and support are bad.
and if you become to suceessful then you better have somewhere to go. and quick.
Dedicated 08-02-2001, 06:51 PM Yes ... Fasthosts are not the best but can you find a better provider? if so let us know .... !
Vibus are good but you are only allowed 5GB bandwidth per month in your account.
bob_carlton 08-11-2001, 04:59 PM We got stuffed by Fasthosts so you can guess what we think of them!
"it's a wise man that learns by the mistakes of others" ;O)
Vibus seem very good after 4 months.

Haakon 08-12-2001, 07:23 AM Just want to drop in a recommendation for venturesonline.com, the best support you can find I think. And packages are also really good, especially for resellers.
Dr Strangelove 08-12-2001, 12:00 PM Anyone got any recommendations for CF resller that offer value and mark up ;-)
Preferably, but not essentially on Linux.
WebSnail.net 08-12-2001, 12:41 PM Go for McHost and forget Fasthosts.
Comparison:
- McHost will cost more
- Fasthost will cost less
- McHost will support you quickly, knowledgably and professionally.
- Fasthosts will leave you sitting for days waiting for a problem before sending you an "it works fine" response because they just rebooted your server rather than deal with the proble,...
- McHost will admit when there is a problem and acknowledge and guilt where applicable
- FH will stick their head in the sand and blame someone/thing else
Bottom line:
- McHost will give you what you paid for i.e. quality
- FH will take your money and people will look at the resultant problems you have and say things like "well what do you expect for pennies?"
So if you STILL go with Fasthosts, I'll be one of many standing there saying "told ya so" when it goes 'amskray'
:D
winquest 08-12-2001, 01:26 PM You can always find Marc from MChost here in this forum :)
Hello
I suggest mchost for unix and vibus for windows.
Vibus gives you 5G transfer, 2G space for 300 pounds.
mchost gives 5G transfer, 500M space for $360/year.
Vibus gives more space while mchost gives free DNS servers.
Vibuse asks for 120 punds/year for DNS servers.
Or you may provide both of them.
Regards,
mac

That is 500MBs Disk Space for all of your domains. You can give each domain as much space as you wish/need. And yes, you can use your own CPanel Skin :)
