Hi everyone,

Curious to know if anyone has had experience with WebTrends Live..... Specifically :

1. What's the latest version? (I have a v1.5 copy)

2. Any idea how much the enterprise version is?

3. General impressions of the software?

Thanks in advance :)

I remember speaking to WebTrends last year at Internet World, I'm pretty sure the enterpise package was around $30K. If thats the package which is hosted on your own servers and not theirs. I cant find any reference to it on the site anymore, so maybe its changed.

The rest of their prices are shown here:

Ouch! :( I'm not entirely sure my dept. is willing to pay $30K (=$60K down here)...... Hmmmmm.....

Better play with the eval versions then... Thanks James. Anyone else?

may not help you, but since you are looking into access logs and stuff...

I use access probe. It is very good :) I like it better than webalizer actually. I think the company isn't updating it anymore though :bawling: , but it's still a nice script. I forgot their homepage, but if you need, I can find it for you. Look on cgi.resourceindex.com, that's where i found it. (it's a paid script, but dont that expensive.. dont remember how much.. I got it over a year ago)

P.S.

Anybody know of a script similar (but better :) ) than access probe? I like it and all, but I'm looking for a log analyzer that will save backlogs because one of my web sites are hosted on a server which rotates logs twice a week, and that kinda ruins things when I want to view stats for the previous year and stuff.

My that was one huge run on sentence :D

I notice that for the past day or two my firewall is blocking attempts to access statse.webtrendslive.com when I read this forum, so someone must have installed it here on this board. Maybe you could ask in the moderator forum... ;)

Yes, I just noticed the new 'live' version is up :)

However, the version I've got in my hot little hands is the one I can run on a local server..... I checked with one of my local resellers and they said it was about $30K. OUCH!

You guys are scaring me now... we run WebTrends at our end here, local on the server, and I'm sure I paid no more than $150 for it...

Are we talking about the same version?

Sorg

(P.S. If anyone would like to order WebTrends from me, it's a mere $15,000 - license and all! :) )

I think BC is referring to the Enterprise edition of Web trends live, not the standard boxed version that most peope are familiar with.

That is correct. Sorgboi has the standard professional version I believe :D but for my university dept. I need the enterprise version.

Oh well, I'm not the one paying through the nose for it.....

Excellent! Thank you James :)

I also got a quote from a local reseller saying it'll cost about $900US ($1830 Australian) to upgrade to 3.5c (the latest version), so I have a feeling my dept. will push for the upgrade no matter what my report will say :D

Thanks again.

BC,

we are using WT Enterprise 5 and it is so far the most comprehensive in all the traffic stats software and since our WT is on a local machine it loads/runs a little slower that most traffic stats program.

My God. The "cheap" version is $699 (Webtrends Log Analyzer 6.5c)

I have 1 client that has web trends. they run it durring their off peak hours because it seems to be a heavy duty program that eats up CPU Cycles. They are on an NT platform running CF

I've requested from them if there is a way to use the program offsite. they have replied ... " we are sending the book ASAP and you can read it and advise us "

I'm still waiting for the book
