Help!

My customer has a domain with NSI and have just signed up for web hosting with me.

Where and how to change the nameserver to my nameserver????

I've tried to help but receive this:

Please enter your name server (DNS) information below. Once you submit this change, you will no longer have access to or be able to sign up for any services that require your domain name to be on Network Solutions' name servers. These include dot com mail®, dot com bizcard®, and dot com forwarding®.

Required Information

Hostname
Example:
ns1.yourispsname.com

Host name invalid. Host must be associated with the domains you own.

What the *&*^)(*&

It asked for ns1.yourispname.com and it gives me this error?????????? Are they high?

Your help is appreciated.

We have also registered many nameservers for our clients for domains registered through Net Sol. I am sure Bert will be able to help you. Just in case, if you need any help feel free to send the details at sales@m6.net and I will try my best to help you out.

No ICQ. I'm on a network and most ports are closed.

How about just email me?

Well you can just email me, but it will take longer to help you (off course) Go ahead if you don't mind and email me your DNS server information and the domain name you are trying to modify. I will be glad to help :)

Hello, one of you email the other before we have an entire thread about emailing :D

NewonNet, it sounds like you are trying to create a hostname (no fault of your own, NetSol is confusing with this) try following this URL:

http://networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/makechanges/domain.mod

Enter your email as that's where something will be sent. Your customer will have to approve it. Or you can enter the admin email for the domain and tell your customer to simply hit REPLY & SEND (you will have enetered the changes needed).

I did the email thing and received a reply. Here's what those idiot at NSI have to say.

'The domain name you are attempting to update was registered through WorldNIC Services and should be updated via the following URL:

http://www.worldnic.com

You should have a password and an ISP password so you will be allowed to make updates to this domain name record.'

IF you go to worldnic, you end up at NSI web site, them same one that I started the process. So what the ***** are we supposed to do???? They keep you going in circles.

I hate these people.

if your domain isn't with NetSol... they won't let you create the hostnames through their site (err, unless they finally gave up and implemented globality)

what i had to do was call them up... you have to talk to them slowly and emphasize all the words :D

g'luck

Well.. I spammed them with 10 or more request and I guess that gave up and added my nameservers. =P
