View Full Version : Forum Mods and Promoters Wanted
SsZERO 07-25-2003, 03:40 AM We have some "dark" tech forums set up, and despite getting around 40K unique hits per month, they remain lifeless.
The goal is to have a nice refuge where people can talk about the really neat stuff that other places tend to ban, like hacking your DSS for free TV or your TiVo so you can copy the stuff you've recorded, etc.
Anybody here with free time, dedication, a level head and preferably some ability to get some interesting discussions going on would be greatly welcomed. It's a volunteer position, but it should be a lot of fun for the right person(s).
PM me if interested.
TopHostSupport 07-25-2003, 11:46 AM Hello, Nice site but I was wondering where the copyrights were for vbulletin? I thought you were not allowed to remove it.
**Edit** Are you looking for mods of all types? Or just those who have experience in certain topics listed on your site?
SsZERO 07-25-2003, 03:06 PM Not that it is any of your concern...but we paid for the software and own it; if vBulletin wants to put ads on our site, they can pay us.
Mods should be experienced in the topics on the site, however if you are really good at modding then we can try you out.

Well if you are asking people to be mods at a forum that is possible breaking copyright laws then I think anyone has a right to ask.
SsZERO 07-25-2003, 03:40 PM Explain to me, how removing a notice is violating a copyright. I'd love to hear this...
TopHostSupport 07-25-2003, 03:45 PM Can I remove the "Powered By vBulletin" copyright text?
No - All copyright messages (both in the software code and templates) must be retained. For complete information, please read the vBulletin license agreement. Note: We do offer a special license that allows the copyright text to be legally removed - please contact our sales team for details.

All vBulletin copyright notices within design templates must remain unchanged (and visible).

Anyways It was a simple question, Don't see why you are so bent out of shape.
SsZERO 07-25-2003, 03:58 PM And how do you know that we did not purchase the license that allows us to legally remove the notice?
If you wanted to be a mod, you should have kept your mouth shut and stuck to the topic. Start poking your nose where it does not belong and the world sees what a moron you are. Thank you for saving me the trouble of finding out your inabilities without letting you have any administrative responsibilities on our site. :)

haha, Ok I never said you didn't. I asked. Anyways take care and I hope things get better in your life.
*Bows out of this thread for good**
SsZERO 07-25-2003, 04:15 PM When you asked this:

You questioned our integrity. For future reference, NO, you do not have a right to ask questions like that, especially when you do not have ANY facts.

It seems like a simple question, with a simple answer.
If I paid to have it removed, I'd have no problems gloating about all the money I spent.

:flamethr: :fork:
SsZERO 07-26-2003, 04:13 AM At least you can see why I do not make an ideal moderator. :D
vB-Cary 07-26-2003, 01:06 PM SsZERO:
I would highly recommend that you readd the copyright statement to your 'footer' template. By removing it you are violating the vBulletin license agreement and are you risking having your license revoked without refund.
Additionally, please check your private messages.
