I have know of Powweb for sometime. Although I don't use them, a friend does . From reading their forum, it seems they have a lot of problems with their hardware.

One of their sysops just posted a message saying it was one of their ad networks. He mentioned they will investigate the matter.

I get spam from them all the time. I got it on a newly created domain name not too long ago, fired off an email to their abuse@ got the normal canned repsonse, and never heard back from them. Yet I do get SPAM adversting that company quite often. Just blacklist the domain it came from.

It's very possible that it's one of their affiliates trying to get their commission .. :-)

I got 2 of them myself. Even my remaining client there got one and they're mad.

Powweb has a ton of affiliates, so I'm sure this is what it is. Spam doesn't work like it did, and a company like powweb isn't hurting enough to destroy their rep. so without seeing the URL, I assume it is just an affiliate.

I have a feeling it's a greedy affiliate too. Hope they get to the bottom of the PowSpam issue.

Any company that runs an affiliate program that generates that much spam should be considered spammers themself, in my opinion..

Powweb, it seems, do not discourage their affilates from spamming. It's been seen over and over and over and over again.

I also been seeing a couple of their affilates spamming the news groups and some message boards, including one I moderate. The person has been on the board for a month and all of a sudden he put a link to PW with his referal id # in his sig and he was immediately locked out. Our mboard does not tolerate spam, period.

To bad they do not send a few eggs with that spam.
Then you would have something..........
