Yep, it is a stupid question, but I think it's a great game :)

I just got the game a couple days ago i've just started playing it :D looks like an awesome game so far :)

I think that is one of the games I got when the PS2 first came out (I managed to snag two PS2's the day it came out :D ). That and Madden 2001. Even though it is the first racing sim on the PS2, it is still easily the best.

I might be able to help a bit, but it's been a while since I've played it and I don't think I ever quite got my S license.

I am poor so I am still playing GT1 on PS1, but it is one of my favorite games that I have (besides GTA1).. I did however get a change to play GT3 at Best Buy the other day on PS2 and I can say I am truely looking forward to it.

GT3 is really good, but could have had more cars... I saw some screens of GT4 todays and it looks sick. I think the release is next year though, so GT3 will have to do ;)

GT3 is a great game but I have to agree with mufc and say that the PS1 versions were better for some reason. I can't put my finger on why ... but they just seemed more ... ummm ... better.

Yeah, GT2 for PS1 was a really good game...

GT3 rox, its almost the only game i play on consoles, everything else i can get for PC or live without - except the GTx series :D

i am playing GT3 atm. i have done all the beginner league and about half of the ameteur league (done all races i have cars that can compete in). i have $650,000 cash and about 12 cars. My best car is the Toyota GTone road car, and my Gillet Vertigo racecar comes in second.

Took me a while to figure out that the car you win at the end of a championship is random, so save at the end of the second last race so you can keep winning a eventually get the best of the 4 cars :D

or is the steering wheel just a pos?

i prefer controller just coz i am used to pc games where i use mouse and KB. So i also prefer the digital buttons on the controller not the analogue sticks.

It really depends on the steering wheel you are using. The "official" Ps2 steering wheel (made by logitech I think) is really good and drives very well, while most of the cheaper ones aren't very good.
