They make nice software and have good support but you don't hear much news from them...

Does anybody know when Plesk 2 will be released?

They say the 2nd week of august, expect at least the third week.

That the same thing they told us i hope they can make it by then.. :) 2.0 does look great.. ;)

Is there a place where we can see a demo of Plesk 2 or is it "closed" to the public?

We had a chance to view the demo yesterday with PLESK Sales Managers and it was a success. The new control panel is very nice and has must have features for any web hosting company.

Offering add-on's such as webmail, database management, annymous FTP management, reseller support & more.


This new release is scheduled for August 13, 2001 and it may be released prior to that date.

Do you know about anything about the software versions that will make release 2? Will there be support for GD?

I have personally installed the version for 6.x redhat I have also seen 7.x redhat and freebsd

All work great nice features. They need to redesign the fronend which wasn't finished when i saw them they still flow a little stiff on setups but adam at plesk assured me that these would be addressed I am very impressed with everything to do woth plesk great support and a really strong product.

I got a call from one of Plesk sales rep the other day and he told me that they will start taking order for the new Plesk in August 1.

Start taking orders as in preorders, or will it be ready then?

I think they mean per Orders from talking with them sounds like the 18th of this month.. I have to say from the looks of plesk to its nice.. Good reseller support now as well... Watch out CPanel it's a control panel that works with out a monthly fee. Yea Baby.

If plesk 2 is as stable as 1.3.1 then it will rule the world as i see it.. hehe :D

Does it have any features where you can put together a web site with other peoples material? Just curious.

Here are the new features that i saw.

Comes with phpmyadmin and database control.

Webmail

You can register and manage domain names through the plesk interface. It looks like they are hokked up with register.com it says the domain is 19.00

There is a new feature called domain user not sure what it is for yet though.

All in all the control is nice and the stability is good have been beta testing for couple of days now no probs. Install was extremely quick and easy.

It has all the basic features that you have to have in a control panel and the nice thing is plesk does it right the first time and their support is unequaled. I would post some screen shots but not sure if I can or not.

We got Plesk 2.0 today (psa_v2.0.0_build010723.17_os_RedHat_
6.x_i686_install.sh.gz) and will install it probably this afternoon. I will let you guys know what i think about it ;)
