I've just recently got into the web hosting business and I was wondering what the heck a VPS was..I think I have a pretty good idea though. Are they a server that has the hard drive partitioned so that different OSs can be installed on the same one and then that partition is leased out to the user?

So..that didn't answer my question..it just gives URLs to other hosts that provide VPSs.
A VPS is a bit of software that cuts a physical machine up into lots of smaller machines. This is differenet to normal webhosting as that people who can login on the VDS have full adminstrative/root access so they can do anything they want to their "machine"

So basically I was right. :D
Yeah. Its just realising that the people in each slice have total and utter control. They can delete everything on their slice if they want :)
