View Full Version : tip on toll free numbers
IntraHost 07-29-2001, 11:34 PM Ok, so I know there is a thread like 4 posts down about toll free numbers, but I really wanted people to see this.
I don't get anything out of this. Its just one of those products that I love so much I want people to use cause they are great.
Visit myown888.com. No setup fee, no monthly fee, no minimums. Only pay only 5.5 cents per minute!
There was a post in the other thread about the response time of them. I just emailed them around 2 or 3 pm today, and got a response at 8:45pm tonight. I then replied to it and got a response at 9:05 pm. So I thier contact is really good. You can get ahold of them if need be.
They go through RSLcom USA, so they have a great network and really detailed billing. Its like 5 pages long, and my last bill was like only 25 bucks. :) haha.
You can also request (to a certain extent) phone numbers. They are given batches, so they are given all the 303s in the 866 ext, or something. So you can get like 866-303-WHAT (ever, haha). They hold a bunch of batches too. We got 877-676-HOST for us. :)
You get to choose what phone number you want it to ring at. So you don't get a new phone line, it just rings at your current line. And my question to them today was how do I change what number it rings at. You can just email them or call them up (email works better) requesting the change. It usually takes 24-48 hours to change they said.
So thats just my 4.20 dollars worth. :) If you have any questions on them, let me know. I've been using them for about a year now I think. And sorry if making a new thread was wrong, but its just one of those products that is really good and figured it might get lost on that other long post.
Thanks!
sbrad 07-30-2001, 03:32 AM Thanks for the recommendation! Just signed up.

IntraHost 07-30-2001, 03:37 PM I'm glad you 2 signed up! And FYI, adding another number to your account is really simple too. Just email them your main number and they'll get you a new number to ring to any other numbr.

seattlite 07-30-2001, 10:18 PM seems like someone should give them hosting help... their site has been down for a while now since I read this thread... continuing to check.

seattlite 07-31-2001, 01:47 AM its back up... it was down for over an hour... I submitted my application.
wsdhnet 07-31-2001, 10:38 PM It is my understanding that RSL has filed for bankruptcy protection!
"AmeriCom has just received notice of a Motion to Reject its contract
with RSL filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court handling the RSL
bankruptcy in New York. "
I am a reseller for Americom and had to switch all my clients to their new carrier.
Don't know how this will play out just thought you should know.

Get-Hosted.com 08-06-2001, 05:09 PM Just got our toll-free # from them a few days ago. I'd say it took 1.5 weeks to get fully setup. But they do reply to your emails fast during business hours.
JBIZ718 08-06-2001, 09:15 PM We will have 3 toll free numbers soon enough
We have just got another one, they come in handy
Joe

drhonk 08-07-2001, 01:31 PM What about virtualpbx.com ?.. anybody using them ?
cbaker17 08-07-2001, 02:29 PM It costs 20 cents a minute (10 cents for the call to get to their pbx and 10 cents for the call to get to your telephone) thats kind of steep
drhonk 08-07-2001, 02:52 PM Yes it is .. I like their systems tho`. 10 extensions number with voice mail for each extensions.
Anyone know another company that can do the same thing ?
JeremyL 08-07-2001, 03:02 PM myown888.com sucks! After reading this thread when it first started, I ordered an 888 number from them Today I recieve this.

================================
Im sorry but Im not gonna fill out an order form twice for a service and I ordered under the old fees but they don't want to give them to me.
sbrad 08-07-2001, 03:05 PM Yeppers. I just got the same damn email from them. I replied with, "No thanks. I would like the deal I signed up for". I sure don't expect to get it, though.
acetate 08-07-2001, 03:10 PM I didn't get any email from them.. Does that mean that maybe I'm getting the old plan I'd signed up with??? Called their 800 # and can not reach a live person always get that darn voicemail. =/
sbrad 08-07-2001, 03:13 PM And here's the reply I just got from them (really fast, too!).
Dear Mr Bradley,
The reason we have a new toll-free service provider is b/c our previous
provider, Transpoint, is requiring all toll-free customer's also switch
to their regular outbound long distance service.
If you would like to switch to Transpoint for outbound long distance,
they will be able to provide the original toll-free service you signed
up for. Please just fill out the attached form and send back.
Thank you,
Samantha

JeremyL 08-07-2001, 04:30 PM The truth be told, I really don't mind the $5 fee. But I am not going to fill out the exact same form twice for the service. I sent them an email saying if they wanted my business they needed to use the info I already provided.
JBIZ718 08-07-2001, 04:42 PM We just got our At&t toll free number
It was about 1 week and is very nice.
Now i just need to setup a phone system
Joe
IntraHost 08-07-2001, 07:03 PM I didn't know they changed thier pricing... but then again, 5 bucks a month is not really that bad, ecspecially since they are now 4.9 cents per minute non 5.5 cents per minute. :)

sbrad 08-10-2001, 07:28 PM att and verizon toll free lines arnt that bad. i pay $0.04 a min from Qwest.
I probably already know the answer to this, but do you have a monthly fee?
multipleimage 08-10-2001, 07:48 PM nope
sbrad 08-10-2001, 08:18 PM Oh, cool. Got a linkaroo?
multipleimage 08-10-2001, 08:25 PM I believe 1-800-743-3793 is one of there sales numbers. Make sure you get the business long distance / toll free services. They will eventually give you to an account rep who will handle your account. Fax her your last toll free/long distance bill and she can give you a rate. Otherwise you can get there standard rate but I think that is like 8c a min.
sbrad 08-10-2001, 08:37 PM Thanks!
multipleimage 08-10-2001, 08:39 PM let me know how that works out for you. If not I know of a company that is $.045 per min with a $15 min a month(otherwise there is a $2.50 fee) that I have set several of my customers up with.
