I need to find a program for billing... Any ideas? I have thought about QuickBooks Pro with integrated e-mail billing. Anybody use this? I don't want to use an online billing system. The computer this will be run on is kept offline except for mailing out billing notices and receipts.
I just need reminded when to bill my clients and send them a receipt.
Thanks,
Ben

Quickbooks is very good for service a based business. I suggest getting a quickbooks consultant or accountant help you setup though.

can not remember where I read but a few people have been griping about the new quickbooks and security issues and sending back info to quickbooks about your sys etc... so keep it offline is my advice or setup your firewall to block inbound and outbound access to qickbooks
the articles I read were quite scary sounding

We use quickbooks Pro 2k1, and its solid.
Very easy to setup and overall hasnt caused any problems so far.

We also use QB 2K1, havent had any problems, except when tax time rolled around and I found out that our accountant was on the 99 version. No problem though, we just printed out the reports that he needed. From that stand point, it is great come tax time.
We do not currently send invoices with the e-mail feature. No real reason that we don't, but most of our customers have been local, so we just deliver the invoice or snail mail it. We have printed the invoices to a PDF file and sent those to customers however. This allows us to digitally sign it before it goes out, and set it so they cannot make changes to it before sending it back.
