Last time I checked 10MB = ~3240GB
so 10MB = 3240GB
ok what does 148.1 kbytes/sec = in month ? thats almost a T1 which is 1.5MB right
server4sale 07-22-2003, 01:12 PM THis one we are talking about 10Mb line
T1 = 1.5Mb
Partial T3 = 10Mb
10MB = 4.5 T1 Lines
TalonKarrde 07-23-2003, 04:26 PM Yes, 10MB will get you around 3240GB a month
The 10mbps plan would get you the needed bandwidth.
brevig 07-23-2003, 07:42 PM Sorry, this is just me being overly cautious:
MB = MegaByte
Mb = MegaBit
They are not interchangeable. A byte has eight (8) bits supposedly.
Hope that can clear up any confusion.
Also, to figure out usage of a line:
Take the speed (1 Mbps or 1024 Kbps)
Convert to Bytes - divide by 8 (128 KBps)
Figure amount per minute - times by 60 (7680 KB per minute)
Figure amount per hour - times by 60 (460800 KB per hour)
Figure amount per day - times by 24 (11059200 KB per day)
Figure amount per month - times by 30 (331776000 KB per month)
Convert to MegaBytes - divide by 1024 (324000 MB)
Convert to GigaBytes - divide by 1024 (316.40625 GB)
1Mbit = 316.40625 GB in a 30-day month
You can use that method to figure out the availability of any connection. I have heard though, that it is wise to allow for 30% loss. That is, if you get a Mbit connection, plan to only get about 200 GB from it a month.
Again, I hope that was helpful.

makaze 07-29-2003, 10:49 AM I signed up for one of the p3 800 59.95 plans yesterday morning, never got an email confirmation, so I emailed sales, no response yet..
is it possible to have mine changed to a celeron 1.7 instead? I tried contacting sales. but never got any response.. (if the p3 800 is already setup, then it's not a big deal)
but i'd like to get it as quickly as possible so I can get started on using it..
edit: ok spoke with someone in sales, they said they got my order, but i accidently closed the window before i could ask for an eta..
TheBrink 07-30-2003, 02:14 AM i cant get a response either. I am wanting to pickup a box possibly, as soon as i clear up another matter. But i cant get a reply.
server4sale 07-30-2003, 02:37 AM They are busy with meeting and stuff.... Have you tried emailing support@nocster.net or sales@nocster.net to get confirmation?
