Our company recieved an email from a company ( spam ) that was a very annoying email and we ran a trace on the company and found it to be hosted with WebCentral.com.au. I then sent them the following letter:

We recieved this email from your customer located at http://www.X company X.com.au/
We consider this email spam as we did not sign up for any email of any kind as this email is for our business purposes only. I have highly regarded webcentral as a very respectable internet service provider and as such I assume appropriate actions will be taken on behalf of this matter. If no action is taken we will then contact our legal team and discuss our next action. Thank you and good day.

3 days later I am yet to recieve a responce. Should I wait a few more days? Or should they have already taken care of this matter?

My main reason is to find our if anyone else recieved spam from services hosted by this company? Thanks.

I think I would seriously consider investing in a delete key.

Are you serious?

I don't like spam either. I get it every day. Sometimes I take the time to track it down and email abuse@ the offending host. But I can't immagine using this much energy on a piece of spam that came from a shared hosting account on someone's server. I have rarely received much more than an auto-reply when reporting spam.

No im not serious about getting all legal on them, just a "scare tactic". The fact of the matter is, spam is a waist of my bandwidth in which I pay for. And in Australia, bandwidth isn't cheep.I don't understand how or why people get customers by sending unsolicited email messages. But, I do my best to stop it from happening to me.

Good point! I think the best thing to do to kill spam is to start locking up the people that actually respond to the messages looking for more information. I bet that would take care of it in a hurry.;)

Haze, I totally understand where you're coming from...... Considering that WebCentral is based in your state (Queensland), why don't you give them a pleasant ring and see what they do with it? :D

All things considered, WebCentral is a pretty decent host (in Aussie terms), but if they keep allowing spam then that's one major cross against them........
