there are a couple of reasons. one is it is cheaper but that isnt the main reason. i had a customer request to use plesk instead of cpanel because she prefers it. i've never used plesk before myself. i am just getting some input from you guys on it. :)

You can find an interesting article comparing some interfaces at http://www.plesk.com/images/upload/WHM_reprint_March2001.pdf
Note: The link is to plesk.com but the article is from WebHostingMagazine

THeres no doubt cpanel is more veature rich then plesk, but plesk is all about quality, cpanel is more of a hodge podge of code, and with plesk 2 coming out it brings plesk pretty close to cpanel.

Also plesk's support is unbeatable.

What about H-Sphere (www.psoft.net). I think it's playing in the same league as CPanel and Plesk.

Pricing looks confusing? Thanks for the look though.

I think if you are going to mention panels you should also mention the stand alone version of ensim.

The ala cart Web Appliance is quite affordable and does alot.

Personlly, I prefer Plesk. This is what I use on all my servers, and I also use DreamHost Pro ( http://dreamcost.com/ ) for my order-taking and billing/account management.

I am told by dreamcost.com that they have plans to integrate DreamHost with PSA. If these two packages were combined, I think it would make for a very cost-efficient and powerfull software package...
