Ok, I started a hosting account with Primemaster online about 6 months ago and registered domain#1 with them. Now, I registered domain#2 with Stargate. I want to point domain#2 to primemaster (no, not forwarding, actually have primemaster put the name on their servers)... so primemaster got rid of domain#1 when I told them to. I entered primemaster's name server information for domain#2 on stargate's CP.

What else do I need to do to get this to work? First of all, it is possible to do what I'm doing, correct? Host domain#2 on my hosting account and pay Stargate's renewal fees each year?

What should I say to my host to tell them to "accept" this new domain whose name server information is pointed toward my host? gosh I feel so lost... :bawling:

boy, that was a confusing story :)

if i understand you correctly, you used to have a website domain1.com hosted by primemaster. you then registered domain2.com at stargate, and want primemaster to host the website domain2.com now instead of domain1.com. have i got that right?

if that's the case, you just need to tell primemaster that you want them to add "domain2.com" (whatever your domain name is) to your account.

since you've already jumped the gun and added their nameservers to your domain records for domain2.com at stargate, and primemaster has apparently already removed domain1.com at your request, there shouldn't be anything left for you to do. once primemaster has updated their records with domain2.com, you'll only need to wait a couple of days for the change to propagate through the net. then you should be able to see the website for domain2.com in browsers.

Thank you. Yes, you got it all right. I will report on whether they do the job correctly or not, because I've been given a huge runaround by them for this supposedly simple process.

You probably would have been better off just downloading everything important from domain1.com, closing the account, and opening a new account for domain2.com

Then they would have set everything up "right" for you immediately, and you'd be up and running already...

Well we got the problem figured out.. I entered the name servers they're currently telling people to use for their sites, and I signed up a while back. I entered the wrong ones, not knowing that I had to enter the old ones (which I don't see on their site anywhere..) oh well, they gave them to me in an email, but thanks for helping guys!
