When a host says 1MBPS, aren't they just saying "Hey we suck! We use a T-1 connection."

Or am I misunderstanding that. If everyone on one host comp (let's just say 350 sites) used there 1 MBPS, they'd suck a base 100 connection dry.

THen, if your site had streaming media and five people accessed a 256KBPS video stream, they'd exceed your limit.

They could have a much larger connection and only be selling 1 MBPS to a particular client, so they wouldnt necessarily suck based just on that...

well...

1) a host using a T1 doesn't automatically suck. if it's a small place and only handles small sites it wouldn't be a problem.

2) I don't know any host or website that would be dumb enough to run a site with 256KBPS streams on a 1mb/s line!
