The plan doesn't have to be for students, but I know that MOST students are poor. So I make a package that has a reasonable price for students especially (most don't need a lot bandwith + space. But everyone is welcome. For those who want more bandwith and more space, there is an upgrade package available, and there are some other offer available at our website or others for higher price.

500MB webspace with only 100MB bandwidth...

Is that a mistake or just a bad deal?

(Yes I know the rules are against saying bad things about a company, but realistically 500/100......)

I saw this thread before anyone had responded. I figured someone might ask a question like "How ya gonna make any profit?" I was only wondering about how long the host would stay in business with such cheap plans.

I surely didn't expect someone to say this is a bad deal! You call $2 a year a bad deal?

Folks, this looks perfect for domains which are primarily used for personal email.

host4student, do folks have to be students to get that plan? btw, you have a typo on your home page ("following").

Do you accept credit cards? :D

Sure, the plan is great for students, I guess. I would just be afraid that a couple of people (maybe not real students) are going to take advantage of the 500 MB space or "unlimited" space and then the server will be full and the company out of business. Can you stay in business on $2 per year? Even if each person uses only 10 MB of space?

Two comments:

1) It is INCREDIBLY RUDE to insult someone's plan in the advertising forum as you did.

2) If you took the time to look at his site before you ran your mouth, you would discover he also has a plan with 1 gig of transfer per month for $20 per year.

These are not awful deals. If you know you won't need more than they offer, they sound incredibly cheap actually.

*sick of people running thier mouths before they research the issue. I'm not sure if they just like to hear themselves talk to just like to put others down....

Not sure if you were referring to me, but I think what I said still stands as a valid point.

The first part of what I said was an attempt at a joke.

If it offended you, I'll edit it. :(

I wouldn't say its a bad plan from a customer's point of view. But from personal experience, i know that student (or personal teenager) websites consume 3-5GBs of bandwidth per month. $1.80/year (after credit card fees) ...would make 0.15/month per customer. Lets say with 100 customers ...is it worth to provide support for 100 customers for $15/month?

I'd say its a good deal.......
$2.00 a year / 12 months = 16 cents a month.
average GB of bandwidth costs roughly 2 bucks?
they are giving you 200MB of bandwidth for free doods ! :D

One you have reach your transfer limit, you will recieve a notify email. It will ask to upgrade your basic plan to (your first 900mb monthly transfer + 3gb space is $18 a year). If you do nothing, your account will temporary freeze for that month. It will reactive for the following month.
