I am 17 and live in Michigan, USA. I am curently working on starting my own card shop in my town, but can not due so yet, because i am not 18. What I can do is start a card shop online, because Federal Laws do not specify a minimum age to own a business online. Here is my question: Does anyone know a reliable company to host a card shop type business? Is there a specific company or site that I should use to set up my website? Any help and advice to a newbie in the online business market would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest UnitedHosting.co.uk - reliable, great service/support and fair pricing. They are one of the limited number of real* hosts here.
*Don't take this the wrong way anyone, but you all know what I mean.

Hi,
It sounds to me like you are wanting to hire a designer as well?
Hosting and design are 2 different things, although you will find hosts that offer design pkgs. as well.

well, i mysef can design the page and write the html, but i need to have a specific website, not a "blah blah blah.geocities.blah blah blah", you know what i mean? I want buyers to have a specific page to go to, not a remotly hosted webpage.

Yup, you need to buy some hosting and a domain name. :)

http://www.dotster.com and http://www.godaddy.com are two very good places to buy a domain name. I always suggest you purchase domain names, and web hosting seperately.

Agreed, I have heard horror stories about some webhosting companies holding domains hostage after there webhosting service went south.
For hosting I can recomend www.f3hosting.com they are pretty new, and I have only been with them for about a month now, but so far so good.
As for domain registration I have really liked www.registerfly.com I have 8 names with them, support is ussally fast (I had to wait half an hour on live chat ONCE, but ussally I get connected in a couple of minutes).
Don't go with register.com, they sent me junk mail the other day trying to get my change....they are as bad as some of those long distant companies.
