German hosting provider that offers incredible "0,2 MB Webspace" :D :D :D http://www.domainbox.de/ kickster 07-27-2001, 07:11 PM I used to own a Ford Mustang that said 0.5 instead of 5.0 :D You got to be a car guy to understand it ;) Palm 07-27-2001, 07:32 PM What can you do with 0.2 megs? sbrad 07-27-2001, 08:04 PM Erm...that's actually a comma. CD Burnt 07-27-2001, 08:37 PM it looks like that plan is about $1 a month. correct? and it does look like 2 tenths of a meg. with 7 email accounts included, it looks like a plan to have a domain name website mostly for email purposes. you might laugh at that, but I was looking for a plan similar to that just recently. I wanted email accounts, and a small bit of webspace for a page of reference links. Michael-MS 07-27-2001, 09:07 PM Originally posted by sbrad Erm...that's actually a comma. It's german... 0,2 is equivalent to 0.2 if I'm not mistaken. thomas1 07-28-2001, 08:03 AM No, you are not mistaken. Actually, a lot of German hosting companies offer such domains calling them "Webvisitenkarte" (~ Business card domains), allowing individuals or companies to briefly present themselves. I am not sure whether such mini-accounts are popular or not. marco 07-28-2001, 12:25 PM But... hey!!! They give unlimited data transfer!!! Hip-hip-urrah!!! Oh, BTW... in Italy there are a lot of unlimited companies... what a world... :puke: unlimited tranfer  0.2 MB  those who wrote that plan  :smash: me on unlimited companies Cheers, :D :D :D :D :D CD Burnt 07-28-2001, 12:56 PM That's a useful plan, guys. Y'all might be used to plans big enough to host WHT itself, but 0.2 meg is enough to be useful. If I read it right, the email space doesn't count against the 0.2 meg. Business card / resume / sports team schedules / home business ad/ small business ad with a couple pics / links page/ etc with several email accounts . sbrad 07-28-2001, 01:42 PM I can see the potential usefullness of a plan like that. A couple of images, some text and an email link. Hmm. Even better than those little funny shaped cd's people try to sell for business cards. gnorthey00 07-28-2001, 05:46 PM Originally posted by marco But... hey!!! They give unlimited data transfer!!! Well, let's segment some MP3 files into 0.2 MB parts and start a new MP3 distribution entwork. With 7 e-mail accounts per site, that's 560,000 users on the server. Nice. ryu 07-28-2001, 10:13 PM huh, yeah, that would actually be very useful if you had a case where you just wanted to use your cool new domain name for a spiffy email account... :) wonder if there are any services like this among the US companies? i'm sure there must be, i just don't remember any similar plans offhand... or maybe here it's more the province of free/low cost email providers. toma1708 07-29-2001, 12:16 PM I would recommend that you pay some attention to the plan you discussed above. You can be sure that they made a lot of calculations and planning before offering this and they extensively researched the market. When a german company starts something they are used to succeed and not to fail. Instead of laughing, some of you, I would take it very seriously. Best regards. determinist 07-29-2001, 12:54 PM Since this is not the only plan they offer, i presume it's merely something "extra". They published it but it'll be up to their client's decision on if the webspace is enough. mickey 08-01-2001, 12:43 PM You can design a htm file which has following information: Your Name Your Age Your Email Your ICQ no. Your Photo (remember use small file size) The most important thing is...... the hyperlink of your real homepage ^.^ |
