I'm soon going to be an ex-hostculture client. I spent half a day looking through this forum and these are the best ones I found in terms of meeting my needs and user testimonies. I'm leaning towards DomiNet. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

Anyone know what is wrong with hostculture anyway? We have been getting a flood of customers from them over the last two days?

Out of that list either hostingmatters or enhancedhost.

Thanks for the suggestions so far... I really appreciate it.

As for hostculture... on July 10th, their home page started showing what they're showing now... basically a message saying they're changing servers. It would be nice if I had actually gotten an advance notice from them before the change. But I found out the hard way :o. So I emailed them asking about what was needed to be changed. They replied with the new info and also said they were sorry but it appeared that some clients did not receive the advance notice. That's a little suspect, since I have 3 accounts with them and I didn't get any email. When I finally got the new DNS entries and changed at the registrar, I noticed that the DNS propagation took a bit longer than expected. But it turned out that PHP is not working at all on the new servers and I couldn't tell the difference for a whole day because it kept on showing "Page could not be displayed" instead of some kind of PHP error. I emailed them at least 3-4 times since the 14th and as of now haven't gotten one reply back. This is probably the major reason I'm switching... they need to update their customers on what the heck is going on. If they can't even do that, I'm out.

Again, thanks for the help.

BTW, Myacen was also one of my choices based on user reviews around here but alas the pricing is a bit out of my league. :)

I'd go with anon-e-mouse and give Enhancedhost a try. I heard the last time the Admin slept was in 1998. :D A couple of others you can try would be HostNexus or Lunarpages.

I guess I'm going with EnhancedHost then. More bang for the buck. Should there be any concerns about them being in Australia and me being in Seattle?

You shouldn't have any concerns. Any web host who has been around for a while will be used to working with customers the world over, and can handle different time zones with ease. Seattle to Australia's only a 7 hour time difference anyway. :)

I agree with Robert. Never used either one personally but have monitored hosting forums long enough to say that I would recommend either one if they have a plan that fits your needs. Good luck!

My vote goes against DomiNet, I can suggest you not go w/ them from past experience.

I can recommend Dominet, their support is courteous and they do make an effort to keep my sites running fast and trouble free.
