Hi, I just joined the forum. I am looking for a new web host. There are soooo many to choose. I welcome some good advice on which are some of the better ones out there.

First, I have a Windows XP operating system. I have 3 average size web sites and run affiliate programs on the internet.

Things I require of a web host would be the usual:

1. 99.99% up time
2. Probably at least 100MB
3. Unlimited FTP sending
4. Plenty of bandwidth for a small size business
5. One of course that's fully compatible with Windows XP
6. One that has a clear, easy to use Control Panel
7. Several email addresses
8. Autoresponders
9. Automatic back-ups of my web pages daily
10. One that allows for using CGI scripts on my pages (not using presently; but may in the future)
11. Free CGI scripts
12. REAL customer support, preferably by 800 toll free and also via chat help and email help. My present host usually takes 48 hours to answer my emails!
13. Free set-up
14. Reasonable monthly fee. Preferably under say $20.00 a month.
15. Free web content
16. Lots of other stuff...

I only want posters to reply that are using the web host they are recommending and are HAPPY with the service provided.

Raider, the operating system you use should not be a factor in your choice of host. The best hosting OS to go for is Linux whether you are on an XP machine or any other.
I would recommend you have a look at http://www.tekadvantage.com
They offer everything you are looking for.
As far as unlimited FTP sending I'm not sure what you mean but you are limited by the resources of the plan you choose.

I don't think he's wanting replies from companies themselves. It's against the rules here anyway.

I only want posters to reply that are using the web host they are recommending and are HAPPY with the service provided.

I would recommend taking a look at clook.net or pair.com.

No I don't want replies from companies themselves. Just from customers of hosts that are pleased with the service they are getting.

I've tried searching for a good host myself in the past and it is a ton of work. I was looking for some good input to shorten that task. Thanks.
