i am a web developer based in china and looking for a cheap web host for my site - essentially am looking for a space to experiment - need asp on top of all the basics. don't envisage having a huge volume of visitors.

at the moment i am with a US based host - the problem is that they have blocked access to the major chinese isps due to chinese hacking activity - so i can't see my site. have contacted a couple of other low cost hosts in the US - same issue with them.

has anyone tried either www.hostonce.com or www.webstrikesolutions.com - both of which are based in Australia and both of which appear happy to host me?

regards

chris

Hello

On a local server a person asked about Hostonce.com, after this I looked it's page. Writing for everything "UNLIMITED" !
Please be carefull about unlimited. I lose money and hosting because of "UNLIMITED", it can't be possible.

Ive hosted with WebStrike for a long time. They are awsome, and offer great servers/support. The only thing is....they use the RackSpace.com datacenter, which means that they have US based servers. That probably will screw you up, since you dont want a US based NOC.

HostOnce.com is on my BlackList....they claim to offer "Unlimited" bandwidth/space....what losers.

Satelite

Maybe its a good idea to get with a ISP in China.... I'm sure there has to be at least 1 Webhost in china.

ended up going with webstrike - they have been great, no problems at all. looked into a couple of chinese webhosts but they charge a lot for not very much - at least with webstrike being based in australia are on a similar timezone so if i do experience problems (none yet :)) i should be able to get them sorted quickly.
