I searched the forum for similar threads and couldn't find any, and I hope this is an appropriate place to ask, apologies if not...

I'm desparately looking for a cheap webhost, UK based - for support more than anything - I can't really afford phone-calls to the states when things go wrong!

I'm short of cash and can only afford about £30/year or less, I certainly won't need anything above 100mb of space, much much less in fact, but DO need a fair amount of bandwidth, since I'm a musician and need to put up one or two mp3's every now and again.

There are so many options and companies, I have no idea who would screw me over, or not screw me over, so suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Look at http://uk.kualo.com and http://www.unitedhosting.co.uk , they are both a bit above your budget for their lowest plans, but you will be happy with the service and support.

Got to say they have been excellent in helping me get things sorted for my up coming re-release of a website. Karl is very helpful and has either supplied me with code or pointed me in the right direction with my database stuff... they have a real helpful community too :)

I have been with UnitedHosting (http://www.unitedhosting.co.uk) for a few months now and they offer a brilliant service. Their support is one of the best around.

You could also try: http://www.hostingdiscussion.com/ (formly UK host talk) as you may come across somrthing there.

They are based in the UK, although with servers in the US.
Their support looks good in their forums.
I don't remember their prices but they are definetely cheap and good value for the money.
