I think there should be a marketing forum for web hosts, where they could interact with hosting directory owners, get advice and talk about promotion and advertising..

This board has enough hosting company owners and employees..

What do you think?

you could use the existing "running a webhosting business" forum?

yea but it's too general, maybe making marketing as a sub category in running a host business... because otherwise for every little thing the moderators will be complaining for spam :)

I agree with you Lonny. It could be useful for hosts and directories to interact and not get accussed of spamming.

Well they can do that now, and you can respond (though not in a way that promotes your site). If they want direct advice that pertains to you, email/PM or use the advertising forum for now.

No offence intended but posting in the advertising and offers forum here isn't exactly contusive to stimulating conversation, due to the delay in posts appearing.

That's a good idea, a sub-forum where you don't care about spam. It won't be a place for customers to find hosts, so it won't matter.

Get-Hosted that's not what I mean... the forum should be moderated, but there should be an appropriate place to discuss marketing advertising and.. hmm... even offering advertising deals for hosting companies in this forum.

That's my opinion anyway.
