Well the topic says it all really! ;)
Is this like really terrible crap bandwidth or have these guys slept with uunet's bosses?
I don't get it...
Sounds too good to be true...
Someone please reassure me that it is true!
30GB for 19.95, and 40GB for 27.50.
Any other company would charge the triple, at least!

LOL!!!!! :D I guess they are playing a little bit with their bandwidth ...thinking you won't use up all of it. But 20-40GBs sounds inviting for high traffic sites ;)

They have their own NOC so they can charge whatever they want. They also play russian roulette. If 1000 customers signed up and used up all that bandwidth, they would cry :)

Err, it's not $1.40/gb but $0.68/gb :D

I'll sign up and use every stinking last bit of that 40GB :)
And I'll enjoy it too! LOL

Please refrain from cursing in the future.

If you go even a little bit over your bandwidth limit, they'll charge you for it.

I think they are hoping that with the small amount of disk space, you would find it hard to use 40 gigs, 200 mg, I have static art work that is larger than that. but in case you do go over they charge a whapping 5 bucks a gig for over use. personaly I would like to find a host with good prices, that charge the same a gig for over use that they charge in the plans, but thats probably just me.

Thank you

Oops, sorry Steve, I got them mixed up with your dedicated boxes.

Tera-byte is indeed one of the hosts with the best reviews for shared hosting on this board.

The reason that they can offer it so cheap is that there is an over supply on the market and the big supplier boys are willing to cut deals to try and fill up the void some, plus more companies are entering the market (ie. 360 networks - if it recovers from court protection and if not there is going to be some in the ground lines going cheap)

I am not in hosting but have taking a shinning to this board to learn more about it and after some research I personally have found the following 'deals' if I were to get into hosting.

Company One - $1.00 per gig
Company Two - $250 per Mbps ($0.79 per gig)

That is just from a basic search on the search engines and going down a several pages in the results. I am sure that if I were to get more serious I would be able to get even better rates.

Just what I have read I do not think it would be to hard for any hosting company with a good customer base to get bandwidth in the range of $0.50 - $0.75 oer gig, ofcourse this would be a no frill services. :smokin:
