hi. I'm a newbie in reselling stuffs. and I'm facing some problem. I'm unable to reach www.abc.com or abc.com but I can do a ftp into ftp.abc.com

I'm using WHM control panel.

I've a domain www.abc.com.

My host gave me 2 ip address which I can bind nameservers with the below 2 IPs to ensure total transparency

123.123.123.30
123.123.123.31

steps I did.
1. go to domain registrar
put 123.123.123.30 as ns1.abc.com
put 123.123.123.31 as ns2.abc.com
2. go to my a/c create a new a/c for abc.com
3. my host mentioned they has already bind the nameservers for me.

That all looks ok. You need to add in your A-Records too.

[mods please note - that's just an image which explains adding A-Records to the DNS Zone. I'd try to explain it, but a picture paints a thousand words. :D]

Also -

(1). Have you registered your nameservers? This is a different act than changing your dns at your domain register. If you have personalised nameservers, you need to register them, before you can actually use them.

(2). You might need to wait a bit longer for dns propagation to fully kick in.

So, make sure you've registered the nameservers and then changed the dns info for your domain/s. Be sure to add in those A-Records too. That will solve issues with certian UK ISPs etc. :)

Are you using ns1, ns2.abc.com for your nameservers? It can take anywhere from 12 - 72 hours for them to propagate, 24 being the norm.

2. which is the correct way to insert A-records as
ns1.abc.com - > A -> 123.123.123.30 or
ns1 - > A -> 123.123.123.30 ?

it has already shown

If you let us know your actual nameservers, we'll see if they're ok. Seems you only registered them 2 days ago, they might not be fully propagated.

It could be your ISP is slow in updating, you can try sites like these to check. Enter ns1.abc.com (enter your real domain name not abc.com)

http://www.dnsreport.com

If none of these can find it after 48 hours I would double check at your registar and then your hosting provider just be be sure.

Do you have the www and mail entries in your zone like the ftp entry? I remember those must point to your ip, like the ftp entry :)
