View Full Version : Is site5 always this slow by email?
the--dud 07-26-2001, 06:35 AM I've sent a mail to sales@site5.com the 23 Jul 2001(three days ago).
Altho I'm not a customer I do intent to become one of only they'd answer my mail...
So I'm wondering if this is normal for site5. Do they at the very least pay better attention to paying customers?
Three days might not seem as much for some, but I'm used to getting responds in less than a day!
Am I spoiled, I think not...
Support is essential in this business in my opinion.
thomas1 07-26-2001, 06:42 AM They responded to each of my pre-sales questions in less than 12 hours. I would not say your situation is typical...
Walter 07-26-2001, 07:37 AM I was on search for a new dedicated server a few weeks ago and site5 was one of my 3 favorites - but they never answered my email to sales@site5.com...
kickster 07-26-2001, 09:06 AM I have heard nothing but good review on site5. May be there is a problem with their server and they never got your email. Try contacting them by phone or contact form (if they have one)

I really don't want to bash site5 and I considered them because of the many good reviews on WHT and their interesting pricing. But I sent four emails to them over a period of two weeks and none got answered.
kickster 07-26-2001, 09:13 AM may be a representative of site5 can answer this!
the--dud 07-26-2001, 10:02 AM how weird...
I was really eager to use site5, altho not responding to pre-sale mails really turns me off....
I've gotten a custom quote from www.diatone.net that's good...
What's Diatone like?
Good bandwidth?
Downtime?
Support?
Techies know anything?
Anything else?
Please help me out here....
I'd really like to swicth before this month is done :/
bbrader 07-26-2001, 10:05 AM Their customers usually seem very happy. Try sending in a support ticket to get ahold of them, you will probably have better luck.

AH-Tina 07-26-2001, 12:30 PM I sent one pre-sales email to Site5 and got a reply about 24 hours later. I replied to that email (I had another question) and never heard anything back. I think that was about 2 weeks ago.
I'm now working with ptwebtech.com and they have been EXTREMELY responsive. Haven't purchased yet, but seriously leaning that way!

kickster 07-26-2001, 12:33 PM Tina, you wont go wrong if you go with ptwebtech.com I already have a server and service is great.
AH-Tina 07-26-2001, 12:53 PM I can imagine! I have some pretty unique needs in a dedicated server and pwebtech.com has bent over backwards to meet those needs...and even suggested some solutions that I hadn't thought of.
I mean, they emailed me (after I had pretty much made up my mind) and told me of something I hadn't even considered. They didn't have to do that - but they went out of their way to do so.
If their after-sales is as good as this - I will be a long time customer!
BTW - I heard of them from one of their current customers who couldn't say enough nice things about them as well.

Coran 07-26-2001, 04:01 PM Hmmm, we were going to order a server from Site5 as well, but.....
My pre-sales email was answered in about 10 hours and was a one liner. Just not comfortable with that. They also, as far as I can tell, have no phone #.
AH-Tina 07-26-2001, 04:09 PM I don't know the full details, so all I can say is 'someone told me'....but, the person who recommended that I check out pwebtech.com had recently moved FROM site5 for, as she put it "lack of communication". Again, I don't know the details and your mileage may vary.
pwebtech.com has been very responsive and are almost always available via ICQ. They also have phone support, etc.
