Just got spammed again today.

I'm fed up with it. Here's what I did to make the spammer pay.

1. complaint to BBB in FL (probably won't do much)

2. Keep calling the 800 number so they'll pay.

I know yahoo won't help and the spammer don't really care if his account is closed.

If anyone want to help, please call the # and yell at them for me. I wan't to make them pay for every minute. Really wish I can get 100000 people to call.

Wouldn't that make the spammer go broke???
That would hit them where it hurts.

Maybe I should make a web site just to get people together to do that. Hmmm... ideas...

:D I like that idea. Don't know what kind of legal ramifications it may entail though.

It can get worse than that. My emails were harvested off my web site and mangled. My email advertise@mydomain.com got mangled by the SPAM bot's and I was getting SPAM at ertise@mydomain.com and rtise@mydomain.com, as well as e@mydomain.com. I blocked those addresses and eventually disabled catch all. I then implemented procmail and Perl script filters to scan the emails to prevent SPAM. Well now, I have some #@$^#(*ing company SPAMMING people with one of my mangled email addresses, as the sender and sender path. So, any bounced emails that the SPAM doesn't reach, comes back (well, comes to me). That isn't the bad part. The bad part, is when people email me and complain or think I am the one that SPAMMED them.

Luckily, no one has emailed to complain, but they probably emailed my upstream provider -- but maybe not -- maybe they weren't stupid enough to and figured out what's going on. Nonetheless, thus far, I've only been getting bounces, as if it's me sending them. So, it could be worse -- although I did call the 877 number of the company and probably scared them, as well as reported the SPAM's and the events to the ISP's and providers that were involved. Now, that pisses me off more than almost anything else online.

Well, that's certainly an issue that was dicussed many times in various news groups about pay back and why it's not a good idea. However, screw it, is my opinion. I say, every time you get an email from them, you call and ask why 5 times. Of course, this is assuming you make sure it's not some jerk trying to have people get pissed at an innocent company, other than a real SPAMMER. Also, in addition with, there's no reason why your friends can't call and complain about how they don't agree it's a very nice thing to do, and continue to call back until they can finish what they were saying. What are they going to do? Call the police and say you are harassing them because you want to finish your story, or because the person that was SPAMMED complains to them about it? Maybe they can try, but they are just as screwed to take action as any of us are to really stop some of the SPAMMER's anyway. The more power to you.
