Just wondering if it's safe to upgrade yet. :)

I tried upgrading, ending up going back down

Databases didn't show up in /sql even when they showed up under phpmyadmin and other strange things were happening

Stick to release I would reccommend. And let things seep through slowly and stabely

From what I hear and read it has still some problems, although this is relative. Wait till you see the stable version released.

That's what I figured, but thought I'd ask just in case. Reason I asked is because it just started complaining in WHM News that I'm running an old version and to update

I am running the Latest 'release' version and have run it since the first edge.

It is prefectly stable with a few minor bugs, that where fixed w the release update ;)

Since that update (few days) I haven't seen ANY bugs ;)

If it was perfectly stable then they would have it listed as "Stable" on their download site. Personally I don't like having to upgrade between their edge/release versions on an almost daily basis. Only go to one of those versions if there is a bug that needs to be addressed.

Exim4 does have issues.

We had problems where clients were missing out on emails for days...

Mekhu,
you say Exim "does" have issues then you say "we had" problems. This means that you have solved your problems? The solution was provided by a newer release or you did a manual fix?

Thanks.

I upgraded about 2 days ago and find its working great. Hopefully soon it will be an actual release.

What kernel are you running 2.4.20 ?

If it's patched you should be fine.

I added the 7 to a new server that no one is on yet and have been playing around with it. No major issues yet, there was one glitch with the x2 skin but I was able to fix that myself.

Upgraded to 7.2.0-RELEASE, Build 7 today.
No problems to report.

I wonder how long before 8 is out? I mean... they're already on 7.2. HEH.

We upgraded to cpanel 7 on our newest server that had hardly any accounts on yet. No problems thus far. We'll be upgrading the other 19 servers when STABLE is out.

We have CPanel v.7 on a production server and our techs are playing around with it. We won't put it on a server with clients until it is released as a Stable version. We've been burnt before jumping the gun too early. ;)

You're probably going to get burned anyways, when you upgrade to "STABLE". It's not something that you want to upgrade 20 servers in 1 hit too.

Very true, but at least waiting for the Stable release usually reduces that severity of the burn. :)

Yeah, instead of the blow torch being on 9, it'll be on 2. Not enough for serious injury, but enough to leave a nasty rash. :D

Is 7 'stable' yet? I guess it depends how liberal you are with the term... Tell me is 6 stable? or 5 for that matter? ;)

I run the latest cpanel 7 edge build on our support server, and have seen no problems. Only 3 sites on the box so go figure why :D.

We've been running 'Release' on our servers this past week since ver 7 to keep up to date. Everything has been running smooth outside an issue with Pine (which is a very small percentage of customers). Pine was fixed with a single change to it's config script.

Beyond that we've noticed no issues with version 7 at all. In fact, it feels far more stable, and solid than anything I've played with to date.

If your servers are running as they should I'd recommend the upgrade. Beyond silly remarks about the stability of CPanel from the peanut gallery further up in this thread, you should find the update well worthwhile.

New install's of Cpanel 7.2 seem to load the bleeding edge builds of the software. We're having some major IP pool problems...
