View Full Version : Idea! Plesk on a Personal Linux Box

Is this possible on a personal machine that get's a dynamic IP address? The IP doesn't change very often either... Once a year or so... I thought of this while posting that "cheap dedicated servers" thread in the dedicated servers/colocations forum.

I would have put this in the control panel forum but this idea is just crazy talk! Not relevant to real-world business use of such a product.

hmm, I wonder if it works on Mandrake? Mandrake is basically Redhat (in a form) so i dont see why not :)

I don't believe that it runs on Mandrake Linux, although I am pretty sure that they have a list of operating systems that it will run on.

There is one free panel that looks pretty promising at webcp.can-host.com..I'll use it on my linux box once it gets developed a bit further probably.

http://www.webmin.com/ is fairly good for managing your box..

i am probably wrong, but i don't think web.cp is "free" per say, it's "free" as in liberty (taken right off their site... :) )...
