Jedito 07-25-2001, 08:12 PM Any good? I Plan to get their Dual PIII special.
They offer terrific prices.
But I don't know how is their support.
I know that they are VDI based, but it look like VDI is working fine now.
mkaufman 07-25-2001, 10:11 PM I met Mike from InterServer a few days ago..and he impressed me a lot - very hard working.
I have never used their services, although if you search around this forum - a lot of people have had good experiences with them. I believe one of the employees also posts here?
acetate 07-25-2001, 10:47 PM I have a server with them and their support is far the best.. I recommend them highly..
Jedito 07-25-2001, 11:02 PM I just sign up with them. I'll keep everybody updated :)
Ericd 07-26-2001, 09:01 AM Yes Jedito, please keep us updated as i am interested in their server too :)
Jedito 07-26-2001, 09:24 AM Acetate I sent you an email :)
I just signed up with them. They are very good. :) Very satisfy so far and no complaint to make. They set up my DNS server within 15-30 minutes after I sent a request.
Connection is fast and the server is very fast as well. :)
Jedito 07-26-2001, 10:03 AM Donovan can you ICQ me? 118305008
Thanks
SuperDon 07-26-2001, 12:06 PM Hi,
Just had a look at interserver and there prices are good! The website is terrible though, doesnt give enough info a bad sign. Let me know how you get on.
Cheers.
i have server with them from last 45 days. good support but only 97% uptime yet. mike says it was vdi.net problem and should not happen again. but the price and support ratio is great. i am happy with them :D
i will also keep you guys update on interserver.net. i will bookmark this thread.
partition2 07-26-2001, 05:32 PM Yes i can reccomand interserver.net to.
They have good prices...
The only problem is that support is slow.
I you have problems with server you need to wait as least as 12 or more hours to fix problems.
That can create some of problems with clients.
Imperum 07-27-2001, 04:10 AM yes interserver has good prices
Servers are good and fast
Support is good but very slow...
Have a server there ...
but right now we have a DNS problems and websites are down more than 36hours!
customer calls every our and now we beginn to loose clients. So we need transfer accounts to other servers...
I can help you out with some of the small sites. Sorry, but I can't help you with big sites.

have you contacted them through phone. 36 hrs are more then enough to bring hosting company out off business. i think you are lying here . . . :(
I just requested fo additional IPs, and they did it again within 30 minutes. That's impressing me.
Imperum 07-28-2001, 10:21 AM hi neon,
interserver has god services, good prices and a good support.
But in this specific case proble has been solved afhter 30hours. (perhaps they had to conntact with third part. to solve the problem..)
I never had similar problem with interserver support normaly they solve problems withing 8-10hours or faster. So i can reccomand interserver to all here.
SuperDon 07-29-2001, 04:52 AM Hi,
Think i have finally decided to go for Interservers 1000mhz special deal. Any comments?
I reviewed all the posts on here and generally things look good, but am i right?
Also I know they are based at VDI - again I have checked all the posts and it looks like they are pretty good. Again am I right?
And finally about VDI's new Control Panel, is this going to be good? Or will Nocspft be better.
Basically i need someone to tell me to go ahead with interserver or not!!
Cheers.
Get-Hosted.com 07-29-2001, 05:30 AM Well... Get the dual system! :)
Look at the difference and tell me it's not worth an extra $120.
Ericd 07-29-2001, 01:23 PM I have too decided to go with InterServer with the Dual...plus a little gift :)
William 07-29-2001, 08:54 PM Was the Bills payed on the account, i would never think Interserver would allow any issue past 2 hours.
Lah_Lah 07-30-2001, 12:05 AM try kikko.com
Ericd 07-30-2001, 12:13 AM i emailed kikko about two weeks ago for a sales question and still didn't got a response

Yes i have paid them in full. actually down time was for 2 time for more then 12 hrs. Should i ask them for any refund or discount for this ???
but i must tell you know the things are running much better.
Lah_Lah 07-30-2001, 02:49 AM If you still want them to host you, them forget it.
If you want to move to other hosts, them ask them to refund

StephenRS 09-17-2001, 05:41 PM What is the current report on Interserver.net? Anyone able to find their published co-location rates on their web site (not me)?
Thanks.
Jedito 09-17-2001, 05:55 PM My experience with Interserver is very good. We have 2 servers with them. And I'm more than happy with their service.

On their co-location page (http://www.interserver.net/index.php3?action=getpage&page=colocation&category=services), they say for you to call them at 1-877-566-8398 for a custom quote.
big_smooth 09-18-2001, 10:06 PM I was just visiting the interserver.net message baord, and it appears as if they have a free version of UBB. I also notice that a lot of their customers aren't very satisfied. Apparently, they've had a lot of down time, and people are trying to cancel their accounts with them.
William 09-18-2001, 10:38 PM alot of the down time in question is client servers or overloaded servers. I have notice that a lot of domains complain that are on a server that went down, and it make it look worst then it is.
Some of the clients pay 1.50 a month, so they have no grounds to even complain . "not even Interserver direct clients"

Being an InterServer client, i can tell you they are pretty good.
Also, the customers experiencing alot of downtimes are on shared servers, not dedicated.
big_smooth 09-19-2001, 09:52 AM Thanks for the clarification...
Jeff Booth 09-20-2001, 12:41 AM One of our dedicated servers is w/ interserver and I would recommend them.
Their admin panel they install on servers is pretty nice if you don't know how to administer your own server, and they do software installs and upgrades for free.
Not only that but the prices are good, and aside from the problem's with VDI a while back my uptime has been pretty darn good=)
Hope this helps.
Perfecthost 09-20-2001, 02:26 PM Hello all-
We are in the market for a dedicated and are looking very closely at interserver.net. I sent an inquiry to info@interserver.net two days ago, with no response. I sent another to sales@interserver.net yesterday and received a ticket number. Hopefully, they will contact us soon.
My question to them is this: Will they do complete server management? By this, I mean installing certificates, updating software, handle server IP problems, perform backups, etc. We handle almost all client support questions and problems ourselves, but are not system administrators.
Our purpose for having a dedicated is to have resellers. We would like something similar to the cpanel/WHM setup. Can interserver.net handle this?
Thank you for your advice.:)
big_smooth 09-20-2001, 03:46 PM I maybe wrong, but don't interserver's ded servers come with cpanel and whm?
466, 1000 and the Dual 1000 come with Cpanel and WHM, right? Included inthe package? Or am I illiterate?
Perfecthost 09-20-2001, 04:55 PM Finally found the demo link.
Yep, it's Cpanel. What threw me is that the only references I could find called the control panel "Webpanel". After seeing the demo, it's definitely Cpanel. That's great!
Any advice about the management we need?
new-webmaser 09-21-2001, 08:02 AM Hello guys
i used Interserver.net for local hosting reselling ...
Interserver has good prices ... but about the support TAKE CARE.
if you dont know how to use WHM, set a DNS, create FTP account, .... you will find great and fast support.
but if you like me ... lost your IP pool, apache downs regualry each 10 mins for unknown reasons, ... you will find the worst support ever seen in the world .. you must keep awake to restart the apache when it down ..
dont belive the 24/7 server monitoring ....
Perfecthost 09-21-2001, 10:14 AM Just found this in Interserver.net's TOS:
==================================
15. Dedicated Server Agreements
Note: This section only applies to dedicated servers, not virtual hosting. Section 3, Content Restrictions, and Section 4, CGI Application Restrictions, do not apply to dedicated servers.
All services provided by InterServer may be used for lawful purposes only. Transmission, storage, or presentation of any information, data, or material in violation of any United States federal, state, or local law is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to copyrighted or trademarked material and material protected by trade secret.
Client may cancel a dedicated server with InterServer at any time. Dedicated Servers are not given a money back guarentee. Client forfiets monies paid to InterServer, unless cancellation is done before set up of server.
Client may not change from one dedicated server package to another, only upgrade the server. InterServer guarentees a server upgrade after two (2) years.
===================================
I had thought to try them out for 30 days to check out support. It looks like it is possible to throw away $340 if support stinks. This must take the place of the setup fee. I am more worried that we will lose customers if we have an experience like the post above this one. However, I must say that I have heard more good things than bad about Interserver's dedicateds. Hmmmm......decisions, decisions.
