View Full Version : Unlimited Host (I know what you'll say)
Makeveli 07-25-2001, 02:12 PM I'm looking for a host with the following features:
-Unlimited bandwith (I need about 60GB/mo)
I know unlimited isn't real, but some don't limit you. Of course you couldn't use 5TB's of bandwith.
-Unlimited subdomains
-Unlimited E-mail accounts
-Unlimited Private FTP accounts [So say the ftp account for the subdomain Sports.mydomain.com with the username sports and pass miketysonwilleatyourchildren, so that can't get into the main FTP for my site]
-Unlimited storage (500MB+)
-Web Based Email
-Cpanel3 (Don't have to have, but I like it)
-I prefer Unix
-PHP4
-MySQL
-CGI/perl
I would also like to run a web mail script like squirrelmail on the site, but I think that requires modifying the route and you need dedicated for that or so i've been told.
I'm looking at www.2mhost.com right now.
Please dont reply if all you're gonna tell me is unlimited doesn't exist, I'm aware of that a lot of people think this.
UmBillyCord 07-25-2001, 02:22 PM You may want to read their terms -
http://www.2mhost.com/terms.html
No one will host a 60 GB site for the apparent price you want it for (I am guessing price is an issue because you are looking at a $1.50/mo host).
Makeveli 07-25-2001, 02:33 PM 2mhost looks like crap anyway, I think I found something that might work.
host4students.com doesn't have much Bandwith @ all, thanks anyway.

kunal 07-25-2001, 03:22 PM this simply doesnt exist... you know it.. then why ask for it? im not gonna get into the whole argument again... you get what you pay for.. so wake up and ask for what you need...
Makeveli 07-25-2001, 04:43 PM Well, I found everything I want for $50/month, but I might try to get them to cut down on the price a little.
Thanks for your concern though

People will keep on saying that, unless you can prove them wrong.
You said you need 60GB, then why not find a host that can cater that amount of bandwidth? What's the point of searching for something that does not exist?
Cyberpunk 07-25-2001, 10:38 PM you can afford any amount coming close to paying for decent hosting I suggest biting the bullet and paying as much as you deem fit.
Good services come at a price but you endure so much less hassle it leaves you with a better attitude to running a site :)
Peace of mind always comes at a price but sometimes it IS worth it.
I could swear I've seen some cheap deals on low capacity dedicated servers around here for that kind of money before...

Yeah, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack- when there isn't any needle.
multipleimage 07-26-2001, 05:23 AM you need a dedicated server.
several companies can offer them that handle your needs for about 250.
Makeveli 07-26-2001, 11:13 AM Does Datapacket have a good reputation?
WebSnail.net 07-26-2001, 11:43 AM I think perhaps the best solution to this situation is to try a few... learn from the attitude, quality of service, etc... and then come back in about 6 months time to tell the next one to come along exactly what everyone else here is telling you...
ie: that there's "no such thing as a free lunch"...
Trust me it'll happen... we've all done it at least once... :)
Help... I sound old!! :bawling:
