I am looking for a host company for a non-profit (a pacifist foundacion that seeks for social and economic change trough non-violent means, opposes militarism etc). I am looking at serve.com as they were recommended to us and they have a special package for non-profits. does any one has any experiance with them? what about other host companies that offer packages to non-profits?

I think that eventually we would like to have SSL and a shoping cart (we sell books etc) but mostly it would have the groups newsletter, upcoming events etc. So it would not really be all that huge.

the person who used to do all the web stuff left town so we are starting from scrach and will need good support.

Are you a church?
I know of a major hosting company that offers free full service hosting to any "church."

Many hosts will create a custom pkg based on needs.
Check around.

Hi,
You could also post your requirements in the Advertising forum. Many hosts will give a good break to charities and non-profits.

We are not a church but we have 501c3 (non-profit corporation status)
..... which now that I think about it donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. I wonder if a hosting company donates a portion of their fee I would guess it could be a possible tax deduction -- I would still have to check on this. It could be a good trade. Any ideas on this? is it a reasonable proposal? I have some experiance setting things like this but I would like some feed back from the host co point of view. We are prepared to pay, just want the best deal we can and if some arrangement that is mutually beneficial can be set then great.
